Runway Inspired Make-up: Nina Ricci a/w 2012

I'll be the first to admit how I'm tired of the 90 degree weather and thick humidity I've been facing this month. I find the make-up from Nina Ricci's a/w 2012 looks are the perfect antidote. Be it the bold lips or the neutral eyes, this look makes me crave autumn even more!
I filmed a video of my runway recreation and I'll leave it posted below.
Hope you enjoy!

Micellar Waters - La Roche Posay & Bioderma

In my time on youtube and sifting through blogs I have heard about the mysterious nature of micellar waters, or as both of these brands call them 'solution micellaire.'
What is micellar water? A micelle is a small oil molecule in a water solution. What this means is that instead of mushing your make-up around your face with a classic make-up remover, the oil particle clings to the product, effectively removing it from your face.

I personally was quite intrigued to try these waters as I have sensitive skin, and impossibly more sensitive eyes. After going through packs of make-up wipes from different brands I caved and purchased the solution micellaire from La Roche Posay
Immediately loving the effects and ease of removing my make-up in the evenings, I knew I was hooked on these oil-water hybrids, and had to try the mother of the micellar waters, Bioderma.
I bought my Bioderma from a lovely seller on amazon (they also sell La Roche Posay) and although it cost almost $10 more for the Bioderma, I also realized it contained 300 ml more product than the La Roche Posay.

Are there differences between the two? Yes. Beyond the fact that LRP has the price tag of $20.95 and contains 200ml and the Bioderma cost about $30 and contains 500ml, LRP does contain fragrance. When you purchase the Bioderma TS like I did, it is without fragrance and ultimately better for sensitive skin.
All in all I'd have to say that I will be re-purchasing micellar waters, be them Bioderma or La Roche Posay, as I enjoy the results of them both.

What do you think? Do you own a micellar water? Have you tried either of these? Let me know!

WORD OF MOUTH--OCC Lip Tar in Stalker

So recently while on a trip to new york, I stumbled upon the OCC store in the Lower East Side! I knew I had to pick up a lip tar and although I thought i'd end up with NSFW, I ended up purchasing this color, Stalker!
Excusing the crazy open-mouthed shot, I think the blue-based red is a quite flattering look-at-me red lip color.
The lip tar goes on a tad bit glossy but with daytime wear becomes a comfortable matte(quite unlike MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick which offers a brilliant matte blue based red, but is drying to the point of discomfort).
These lip tars, as mentioned by another beauty blogger or two, are EXTREMELY pigmented so I took a photo of how little I put on my lip brush and it was literally all I needed to cover the entirety of my lips.
So what do you guys think? These lip tars are $15 a pop, but I think considering how little you need to get your statement lip, they are worth the price tag. OCC Products are also 100% Vegan and Cruelty Free which I love quite alot!

MAC Mineralize Skin finish in Soft & Gentle

So after months of telling myself that I could only pull off the matte-faced look, I caved and purchased the MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle. I think it was right after my first swipe into the product and after applying onto the tops of my cheeks that I realized I WAS GLOWING. Never again will I stray away from the shiny cheek again! It's a beautiful look if you're feelin' a little flat and I can imagine it would be a definite pick-me-up in the winter months. It's gives the skin a beautiful peachy-gold sheen and I can honestly say that it might be love!
What do you guys think? Do you own this or any other MAC MSF's? Let me know!
