In my time on youtube and sifting through blogs I have heard about the mysterious nature of micellar waters, or as both of these brands call them 'solution micellaire.'
What is micellar water? A micelle is a small oil molecule in a water solution. What this means is that instead of mushing your make-up around your face with a classic make-up remover, the oil particle clings to the product, effectively removing it from your face.
I personally was quite intrigued to try these waters as I have sensitive skin, and impossibly more sensitive eyes. After going through packs of make-up wipes from different brands I caved and purchased the solution micellaire from La Roche Posay.
Immediately loving the effects and ease of removing my make-up in the evenings, I knew I was hooked on these oil-water hybrids, and had to try the mother of the micellar waters, Bioderma.
I bought my Bioderma from a lovely seller on amazon (they also sell La Roche Posay) and although it cost almost $10 more for the Bioderma, I also realized it contained 300 ml more product than the La Roche Posay.
Are there differences between the two? Yes. Beyond the fact that LRP has the price tag of $20.95 and contains 200ml and the Bioderma cost about $30 and contains 500ml, LRP does contain fragrance. When you purchase the Bioderma TS like I did, it is without fragrance and ultimately better for sensitive skin.
All in all I'd have to say that I will be re-purchasing micellar waters, be them Bioderma or La Roche Posay, as I enjoy the results of them both.
What do you think? Do you own a micellar water? Have you tried either of these? Let me know!
Which one do you think you would reccomend if you had to choose between the two?
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Bioderma! Fewer ingredients and much no stinging when on my eyes! x
